SILKIES....Why The Bad Reputation?

My very first Silkies were a black pair and very sweet and well integrated into the flock. Lately, I "won" a pair of beautiful white showgirls at a poultry show. The male was a real sweetie, very kid friendly and docile. I took him to a meet just for fun and gave him to a woman who raises bantams because his mate would not have a thing to do with him ever. I still have her and she is sitting on three buff polish and one Wheaten Ameraucana eggs, virgin mother since she will not allow a male near her. I call her Evil Diva although she is docile and sweet when I handle her (and she does need baths) all of the other bantams in the run are afraid of her and avoid her as much as possilble. I wonder if she will ever meet a male she will like ? Anyone else have a silkie female who will not tolerate mating ?

Now you all done it! There's a Silkie Breeder only 50 some miles away and they have almost all colors of Silkies and Pastel and White Call Ducks!
