why is it that you dont want to eat silkies.arent they like any other chicken.whats the difference?????????????

I have seen the silkies sell higher than other chickens to kill buyers. They take to Chicago and sell for slaughter...
Something about the dark meat is more desirable.... And guineas seem to go higher for eating also...
I do not eat ANY of my chickens.......

The dark bones are different so they take a while to get used to I suppose.

Also, Hmong people really like the black bones and skin and ( some other groups of people do too), so you would be able to get more on the market for them than regular chickens.



Silkies are so cute and fluffy that I personally would rather nor eat my own. I am not much of a meat eater anyway. I generally cull if I have to and then bury them in a grave.
