So, I had an idiot moment and believed I was buying sexed silkie pullets. They're hatchery birds and not the greatest as far as looks go. I just wanted some girls to set eggs for me. Any idea on the genders of these? One is missing the top beak due to a run in with a turkey, this was a month ago and s/he is still doing great.

I know lots of people ask about silkies, as you and I did yesterday, but we have had 47-56 views and not even one guess. It looks like everyone is tired of helping sex silkies and we are up a creek.

Silkies are extremely hard to sex. Some mature faster than others. I had a roo crow at 5 months and a hen that didn’t lay until 10 months. If you watch them often you may see behaviors that can hint to sex. Look closely at comb and wattles to see if one has larger than the other. I have never read this, but in my flock the boys tend to have much larger eyes.
