Silkies

does it go away ? I tried looking at different chicken sites to see if it was a normal thing but just saw new born chick pictures so I was curious about it. Let me know what you think on this.

Probably not--as they mature and go through typical chick feathering watch to see. In general, as a buff matures, over the course of several years, with each molt the colouring becomes more clear.
 
One more question what type of nest box do you use with silkies. I just have full sized nest box for my big girls but nothing prepared for the bantams I have which is also a pair of rhode island reds, that may be laying in a month
 
I recently put a old mower catcher. I noticed that the last few days my batam hen goes and stays in it. No eggs yet (it is winter here in Australia). I am thinking using the same nesting box for my silkies (i am getting them in a couple of days
