I would be concerned about taking them out of a nice, warm house at this point in the winter. It may be a shock to their systems...

I put 6 10-week-old silkies outside in their own little house (about 3x5) with a 350-degree heat lamp. I'm in NE PA and we've had really cold weather. They've been just fine--nice and cozy, even down to below zero. When we start getting consistantly warmer weather, I'll switch to a smaller bulb.
