I have 5 Silkies that are around 3-4 months old. And 3 of the 5 are bigger than the other 2 by quite a bit.. I'm trying to figure out if they are roosters or hens.. Is this a way to tell their sex?

Please help ! Thanks :)

First of all, the roosters should start crowing about now. The males will also usually have an 'uppy' posture, standing up more than the 'squatty' hens. The roosters will also have a more pronounced and red comb and wattles.

body shape is key if they strut and prance then they are probably roos

This is what they look like from a side view and a front view. There heads are alot fluffier than they look in the pictures. I haven't seen much strutting or heard any crow.. Sorry bout the mess in the back. My barn is under construction still lol.

silkies can be some of the hardest birds to sex. the pics dont enlarge so it is really hard to tell anything. also would need a pic from the sides and a front showing their combs as well

Okay I'll try to get some better pictures in the morning. And Thank you :)

just a guess but the top 2 look more roo ish as they have a samaller crest and stand more upright
