I local breeder who breeds seramas has a silkie serama cross. He doesnt have a camera, or a computer. DOes any one have a picture of what this cross would look like? I dont really want to waste his time by going to his house, and if I dont like it coming back home...
Thanks!

i'd assume a normal feathered bird with possible feathered feet and maybe some poof feathers on teh top of the head. Unless the silkies are also silkied. Then they'd be a pretty funky poofball i'd assume. Either way I doubt they are as small as seramas, and probably have a funky tail. Needless to say I have a big silkie hen in with a silkie roo, if they mate and have fertile eggs I will hatch them just to see

They actually are a Serama with Silkied feathers, no other characteristics of a Silkie, I think. I'm pretty sure Bluegrass Seramas has some. Maybe she'd have pics.

There IS a difference....
There are silkied seramas that are suppose to look like the pictures that hippichick posted. The hook gene shows up in Serama. They are suppose to look as close as possible to this standard...

Then there are Serama x Silkie...two different breeds crossed. I dont have that, but I do have colored egg broodies to keep in my serama pens so I know who's eggs are whose. One was a great Ameraucuana/Silkie cross, and when she was killed I hatched out her chick.

The dad was a Serama...so this is as close as I could get. A silkieseramacana.............half Serama, 1/4 silkie.....
She has weird toes and a poofy head, and is a medium bantam size....
This is a young pic of her.
