So I have a white silky thats 11 months old. Shes been acting a little off, fighting with the other pullet. She been broody twice so far.
The past couple of days is been hot and humid. I live in southern PA. I hadn't seen her out in the run yesterday. I just figured she was sitting on some eggs. She didnt come out for water, so i went to check on her. I have an automatic coop door and she was lying on her side just knside the door. Her body was flat like someone squished her down. No signs of blood. My 4 month old rooster which is a silky is rather large. Did he break her neck while mating I wonder? I just saw him mount another hen an very aggressively pull her head back. I have some tiny pullets and i dont want any more mishaps. Although she could of been dehydrated. She was the Alpha hen so getting to the waterer shouldnt of been a problem. It just baffles me and I am the kind of person who needs to know why things happen.
Any thoughts or need more details let me know.
