I have a couple of pigeons temporarily in an aviary while part of the loft is altered, and there are some japanese quail in there. The other day I couldn't find the quail eggs and it turned out the male pidgie had stolen all the eggs, rolled them into a group and is now sitting on them! He's going to get a shock if he hatches them...

I had a pair of pigeons sit on a corturnix egg once....It hatched.....the baby didn't make it though, because I didn't know it was there till it was too late.....so determine when the eggs will hatch, then go and check all day for the baby, then take it in and put it in a brooder....

think it will be infertile anyway actually its from my very oldest birds, but yes I did figure that the feeding technique will be too different if anything does hatch. Plus the poor pigeon would be chasing rambunctious little chicks around trying to get them to sit still
