Does anyone else feel like if they keep checking their nesting boxes for eggs the chickens will lay less? Hahaha it probably has nothing to do with it, but I've been getting 5-7 eggs a day ( from 13 hens). I was off work today and checked the coop three times. I only got 4 eggs today! I feel like it's happened before. I'm probably just overthinking it, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Same philosophy as a watched pot never boils maybe.

Yes, it always seems to be that way. The more you check for eggs, the more you are interupting them. I always think about it as, would you want to take a poop with someone watching you?

Possible that if you're usually not around much,
then suddenly are in and out of the coop all day,
it could be disturbing them.

Or could be a coincidence.

If you keep a record of egg production, that data might offer a clue.
