I remember once when my hen, Simone, laid a double-yoker egg. Then, right after that, during a course of seven weeks, she went broody and laid seven eggs. Seven weeks, seven eggs... And we only got one chick. And it was a rooster! But anyways... Once she started to lay again, she laid an egg about the size of a ping-pong ball! Smaller, actually! I could hardly see the yoke when I cracked the shell open! I have pictures of the egg somewhere on this computer; perhaps I can upload some.
