One of our hens sits outside the coop every night, while all the others have gone in. Often she is caught out when the coop door shuts (light sensitive), so we go in and put her in the back door.
Now, when it starts getting dark and the others are in, if she sees us she jumps in herself as she doesnt want to get chased by us!
I changed the light sensor so that it goes down when it is much darker. But tonight i went out with the dog and found her sitting next to the closed door.
So, is there anything i can do to encourage her to get her butt in there? It is summer just now so the nights are about 15 degrees C, but that wont last long!
Ideas appreciated. Is this a common problem?
