That baby isn't yours!

when the mommas were getting treats today, I took one of the new babies from the brooder and set it down in the yard for them to see. well Shakers was first to check him out, then Panda & then here runs Lilly as puffed as she could possibly get and right away she started chasing and pecking everyone away from him

. of course he wanted nothing to do with any of them and it was so funny seeing her try to get him back by her. it was just too cute

How cute. Broodies are so funny sometimes.

I sometimes take a duckling outside just to see how my Pekin will react to it. Sometimes she will act a little maternal... But mostly I am trying to fend off the drake from attacking the little one.

They can be silly sometimes. One minute they will be sharing duckling sitting duties while all the babies are cuddled up together & not 10 minutes later the mom's are fussing at each other and poking any baby that isn't "hers" .

Seems esp. true when it comes to snack or bed time.
