Silly question? Do the fake Owls deter hawks?

I'm in the city, but my girls have about 1/4 acre to range on. The hawks are STALKING them and I don't have a very safe run for them yet (I know, I know). I have a dog that is a pretty good protector (of the yard at least) so I think that helps. Do the fake Owls do anything? Maybe urban birds are easier to trick ;-). Thanks!

My uncle uses them around his yard and they seem to work

The only thing those owls are good for is for the predators to perch on while they figure out which chicken they want.

Probley just scare the poop out of the chicken to have an owl watching them. LOL

I hung one from a tree limb near my garden and it scared the chickens away for about a week. Now they just ignore it, which is the same thing the hawks did all along.
