this coming friday i will be moving the 3 week old chicks out to the chicken tractor that has 5 week old chicks in them will it be alright?

i am wanting to do this so they get sunlight
also next to the building there is a large outdoor light on all night so they get light almost 24 hours.

i read in a book somewhere that light increased growth

i need chicken eggs fast
i get 13ish a day out of 19ish laying hens (adult flock size is 27 actually but i am counting out the rooos and the ones who dont lay)

so i hope to get these chicks laying soon.... they are a mix of different breeds with a few production layers.

so any other way of getting them to grow faster?

i have a large demand for eggs....

Hmm, I am not sure. I would say just time makes them grow.
Sorry I'm no help, but here is a boost!

Yes, you'll just need to wait.

Early laying can actually be very bad for the hens, too.

If you want hens that lay early you need to raise the correct birds and even then it takes time. Every bird is different, last years flock started at 17 weeks but the last one to lay did so at 32 weeks. The first to lay were the Golden Comets and the last were the Orpingtons.

That is why this year's additions are all Golden Comets. Sometime in November of this year my flock will be reduced to the new Comets and enough from last years flock to make 20, the rest will find their way to freezer camp.
