I hatched out a bantam chick under a standard hen this spring, black bantam cochin, as a chick she was black with some yellow on her underside.

My bantam hen just snuck herself an egg and hatched a single baby, who she is in total love with as is the roo, so far.
this chick is black, with yellow stripes on the face and undercarriage.

bantam chicks aren't sexed by the different colors at birth are they? as the two bantam chicks were both from same hen and roo, but, very different markings at birth.
