We've been getting pounded with rain/snow/sleet since yesterday evening, and it's going to continue through tonight.

We have 10 chickens and 3 ducks who have 24/7 access to their coop and a run that doesn't have a roof. We let them out to free range before we leave for work in the morning, and lock them up when they've gone to roost at night.

This morning I noticed a few of our chickens just hanging out in the run, getting drenched by the rain. I encouraged them to go into the barn that their coop is attached to (25'x50' barn) but they refused! I didn't think much of it, and just let them be. When I checked on them at lunch, the same two chickens were loving their time OUT IN THE RAIN still! They're completely soaked, but genuinely seem to be having the time of their lives out there...I stood back and observed the flock (as well as from inside where they didn't know I was watching) and there's no one bullying them to stay out, or any reason that they're staying out there that I can see.

We knew our chickens were a bit odd (aren't they all?) but this is just a new level! Does anyone else's chickens play in the rain?

It's always the same 2 that stay out in the rain! Such silly chickens! They got dried up last night, then were back playing in the snow this morning!
