In the Brooder
We are having one delivered tomorrow. We live in the mountains so predators are a real threat here. During the day we put the older chickens outside in our Dog Kennel so they can get out and stretch and we know they are safe since it is fully enclosed. We've done quiet a bit of reading on diseases since that was one of my biggest concerns. Our last group of chicks we got, the Rhode Island Red and Silkies were from my Brother-in-law who raises them in Missouri, so I do have some guidance as to what we needed to do for them.Yes, welcome aboard.
I would recommend reading up on chicken diseases and how easily transferable they are.
Do you have a coop built yet?
