We recently got 20 chicks, 6 weeks ago. We have 4 Amerucana chicks, there is one who is very front of the flock of the personality, very vocal and kind of pushy. Thoughts? Too early?also, the silver laced in the bottom? Thoughts?

Unfortunately, that's an easter egger. Those green legs and lack of muffs or beard give it away. Besides not having a standard color pattern.

That said, it looks like a pullet at this point.

Agreed, my thoughts exactly. 99% of hatchery Ameraucanas are actually Easter Eggers.

IDK exactly which birds you're talking about but the black and white one on the shoulder I think is a cockerel. The rest look like pullets so far.

I have to agree with Moonshiner. My black and white EE

looked very similar to that at that age, and here he is now a little shy of three months.

Color-wise for an EE I'd say cockerel (not sure I buy into that entirely though) but that's not a lot of comb and almost no pink for a cockerel.

Thanks everyone, I really hope that she stays a she. I was just going off what they said about Amerucana, I should have known better.

It has been a couple weeks and it still has no red or even a lot of pink at this point. She has really fluffy cheeks, a lot more so then any of the other birds. Can I be confident she's a hen at this point?
