Silver Appleyard’s Blue Feathers Hidden?

we are in the line where south of us it rains and north of us it snows and we get ice. freezing rain is the worst. then i have to keep ducks and chickens inside or we have birdsicles

how far north are you? i’m in north eastern maryland the coldest it gets in january and feb is about 5 degrees but sometimes with winds factor it’s feel like 15 below . that’s when i make all my birds stay inside my bird-garage-room . i’m mad at them for molting now! 2 started 2 weeks ago but 3 more just started now!

i just caught her and checked and YES she does have the beautiful bluish green feathers, but they are hidden! I am hoping that with this molt she’s beginning I believe,, I’m hoping her new feathers will show the beautiful blue- green -purple feathers!!
