He is now 12 weeks and starting to look all grown up (he is in the middle). He is looking alot like a khaki Campbell although his head is greener and his speculums are more blue.

Ah, thank you! He does look mostly Khaki but there are still some Appleyard traits. His breast is little more red than my Khake drake (bottom picture, Khaki on left) and he has that pretty blue on his wing. He is continuing to fill out and is a little bigger too. When he hatched he pipped the wrong end of the egg and then didn't progress at all for over 24 hrs. I intervened and hatched him over the next 16 hours. As a result, he is extra special!

Salsa has become the head drake of my small flock. I am putting some eggs which he sired into the incubator (Khaki hens), I hope a few resemble him.

I thought I would update this post. Salsa is looking more Appleyardish in his Eclipse plumage than he did in his breeding plumage. I still haven't hatched any of his eggs -maybe when school starts.
