silver auburn and brown auburn turkeys

Here they are (with some friends). I had to cull one Silver Auburn after it arrived as it had what looked to be an infected umbilicus. I watched if for an hour and it was deteriorating so I put it out of it's misery. So we have 6 delightfully nosy & friendly Silver Auburn poults left to form a breeding pen from.

hes strutting early, mine are around 4 months old strutting all the time
It's odd because it is only the Silver Auburn's I have caught doing it out of 4 varieties. I have 2 SA that strut, this one certainly likes to do it more. It is the sweetest thing EVER to watch. So in love.

Do you see a great amount of variation in your SA poults coloring? I have one in particular with a very stand-out red tinge to her, much more vibrant than the others.

Those are regular Auburns which is not what we are talking about in this thread; we have Silver Auburns which are slightly different. They can be found at Porters or individual farms who have bought them in previous years. Maybe @swamperkk sells them?

Just remember, this time of year few people are shipping eggs/poults and Porters is sold out for the year for specific varieties and is only offering assortments (great price though, $5 each!!). Porters will open up their order lists around Fall for next years shipments starting around April timeframe.
