Ever since I heard this heritage breed existed - now a year ago - I have been trying to get hold of some nice hatching eggs. Especially since I originate from the Campine region in Belgium and believe it or not, they don't have it over there. Only its cousin the Braekel still exists.
So, can anyone help me out and let me know how I can get hold of some Silver Campine hatching eggs?
cheers

Thanks, I located them as well! They're the family of the Die Fly Ranch, no?
Only problem is that I am far far away (Antwerp, Belgium) and I need to get a good blood line to start from.
I would be the only breeder on the European continent so I need to get it right from day one

The Silver Campine 's eyes need to be pitch black, unfortunately this is not the case for the chicks at offer.
Nevertheless I am happy to see at least someone giving these birds a chance!

Chick eye colour often changes as the birds mature. My Golden Campine chicks eyes start out light & darken as they grow. True of other breeds as well.

Will do, thanks BGMAT!
You don't happen to have any pics of your campines to show?

Didn't know about the eye colour changing, but am gonna look into that. We used to have Braekels at home, but never noticed it with them.

Yes, they are.

Honestly, considering you are not in the USA, finding a breeder not within your country to ship you anything (birds, eggs, chicks) would be extremely difficult and costly.

Oops. I totally skimmed over the not in the USA part. Hopefully you'll have some luck.

I did not notice any eye change color on these guys either. They've been dark dark since I got them. Will try for pictures this weekend and post them here. They're around 13-14 weeks.

Yes, the problem with getting any Campines is that they're only to be found in English speaking countries (UK, Ireland, US, RSA, Australia).

I did manage to pursuade an English breeder to send me 6 eggs a week ago (although they think it's illegal for them to do so), which got to me by Royal Airmail. My Araucana is currently brooding on them, hopefully with result!

The other work around is that I have a sister in the States (NYC) who comes over regularly and she could bring them with her on the plane. Not sure if a transatlantic flight is a problem but it seems within the US it is not an issue.

Ah, and I just got an answer by email from the lady of the house - Phyllis Urch - saying they should have Campine eggs shortly. Love it when a plan comes together ;)
