Silver lace wyandotte....young roo?

After a long and emotional debacle with Ideal Poultry (not their fault) and the (in)famous USPS (totally all their fault) I ended up with a couple extra chicks thrown into my replacement order of silver laced Wyandottes and marans. Out of the 11 I got the second time (ordered 9, 2 comfort chicks I assume) 3 have died. This one may follow suit, seems a bit down compared to the others, but he or she came with a slightly deformed eye and is now growing what I kind of hope are wattles indicating a potential rooster (as opposed to something weird going on with its face). I think I have at least 1 or 2 roos in the marans as well. Anyway I'm a little concerned about this one and considering the way its eye has been, I thought I'd get a second opinion/third/fourth opinion.

I have 16 hens now and no roosters, and this would be our first accidental rooster in quite some years (like 20 years lol) so I think I would be okay with a (nice) rooster or 2 with a flock that sized, in a sizeable yard as well.

Roughly 4 weeks, that is the start of wattles. If it's a male the comb will turn bright red by 6-8 weeks generally. So update in a few weeks.

This is my gold laced wynadotte at 4 weeks. She is a very lovely pullet laying beautiful eggs. You’ll have to wait till 8 weeks probably.

I agree there's no way to know yet, but I would say boy based on the wattles and comb. No idea about the eye though. Hopefully he (or she) will make it, roosters are so fun!

Just an update, this was (him) yesterday, the one standing tall in the middle. I'm not good with this saddle feather thing, but he is the only one that has a patch of "fluffy" feathers just above his tail. Not sure how well they show up in the picture. Whether it's a pullet or a cockere, I hope it keeps its personality. These are the friendliest chicks I have ever had.

Just to update, I took this pic this evening of the remaining Wyandottes next to each other. Their wattles and combs are quite different, the roo on the left and the pullet on the right I am guessing.
