Silver Laced English Orp

the pictured bird is indeed my roo! His dad is a silver laced Wyandotte and his mom is a gold buff orpinton 💚
Are you sure? The Paradise Poultry folks do not have buff orpintons as far as I know. The resulting bird produced would not be laced and would likely have hatched out all black.

Sadly I don't have pics of the parents, I only have the info from the breeder, But I bought him as a egg from a local farm called Paradise Poultry (if you want to check them out.) I'm not sure why the rose comb didn't come through, although in most photos of the silver laced orpingtons online they have single Combs so maybe it is just how the mix comes out?
Ok...Interesting.

So, assuming I am right and your bird is a purebred English orpington, then crossing him with your hens will give you the following results:
With the australorp, all the chicks will be black.
With the black star, all the chicks will be black with possibly some leakage.
With the Rhode Island red you will get poorly laced chicks that will have subtle differences between male and female chicks (more cream colored with black lacing on the females and more gold colored with black lacing on the males). 😊

Shoot I'm sorry I definitely got mixed up there. I have a SLW x gold buff orpington mix that I got around the same time as this guy, I was thinking of a different breeder.
I definitely need to go back and change that. Rip I'm an airhead

Yes you are correct! I mixed up my birds on accident🤣 I really appreciate your description, thank you so much!
