for 14 weeks I have thought we had a hen, now looking at "her" & pics of this breed on line I am not so sure, I just had to get rid of our last rooster & don't want to go through that again, PLEASE HELP what do you think? is there any other way I can tell?

Sorry, but he's a cockerel. The pointy saddle and hackle feathers are a sure secondary sex characteristic.
 
"She" is the meanest we have I thought it was that she was at the top of the pecking order. No crowing at all though....

Is he going after you? Or is he grabbing the hens by the back of the head and trying to get them to submit? Is that what you mean by him being Mean? If the hens are the focus of his attentions...he is just trying to establish his place with the girls...they can be ruff and the hens will squawk and resist...they don't see him as The Boss being as young as he is...he my just be following his instincts....if you are his target, that's a whole different issue...have you had a Rooster before?

He is really rough with the hens younger than him, he has never been aggressive toward us at all. But the girls are really stressed & we have one other

Sorry about that, we have a barred rock rooster coming up behind him a few weeks & he is pretty aggressive with him too. We are rehoming him tonight...I'm going miss him!!! :(
