The local (2hour drive away) farm and fleet is currently offering the following chicks: Silver laced Wyandotte, cherry Egger, Red stars, Polish, Austria white. I am looking for a quiet breed because I live in the Chicago suburbs (it gets cold here in the winter) and I want to start raising some different chickens, not just common and noisy ones like rirs and leghorns. If anyone has prior experience with these breeds, advice is greatly appreciated! So two more things. One, how healthy are the chicks in farm and fleet? Two, farm and fleet is also going to sell bantams and buff orpingtons and if anyone has any info on those two breeds, that would be AWESOME! I know that this post is ALOT of questions into one, but if anyone can help answer these, then I would be very grateful. Thanks!
