My wife and I are looking to breed SLW to enhance the breed.I'm ok with the long game, time is on my side. Really not super interested in showing but I plan to breed for self sustainability and we will be breeding 40-50+chicks a year. My thought process was, if I am doing the work anyway, I should have a purpose and try to do my part in keeping the standard alive. Thank you to anyone that reads!

#metoo. I'm starting off with a rooster and 2 hens. the rooster came from a local breeder on GA and the hens came from a breeder in Ohio. I hope to increase and sustaine my flock, on a much smaller scale, but like you am not necessarilly looking for "show quality " but am interested in trying to keep true to the breed standards. I'm hoping to learn from this group about breeding SLW's. I'm especially interested in hatching ans raising chicks the "old fashioned" way. Hope we can start this spring!
