Not sure what this little girl is. Any ideas? She doesn't look like my 2 Easter Eggers.

Thank you.

could be an EE. The greenish legs, the chimpmunk color. In the second pic it looks to have some puff on its face like EE do.

Sure looks like an EE to me - the thing with comparing one chick to another as far as overall appearance is that with being mixed breed birds EE come in a pretty broad spectrum, even as fuzzybutt chicks.

And, definitely not a SLW

Dang! That's what I was thinking. My husband is adamant about no more than the 8 we already have. I think I'll ask my supplier if he'll trade her out for the silver laced, which is what I wanted. Thanks!

How sure are you of the ID of the rest of your chicks (are the rest of your 8 chicks or older than this little one?)? Perhaps your SLW is hiding in there and you just don't realize it? I know some folks new to the breed don't recognize them at certain points before they start really looking like a SLW.

I'm using photos of breed chicks. So far, everyone looks to be on track for breed. My Light Brahma, I'm not certain of as she's a bit dark in her fuzz. I'm waiting to see her feathers.

I'm looking up Ameraucana and auracana on line. This chick resembles an Ameraucana very closely. Hmmm, think I'll be keeping it a bit longer.

What hatchery did you order from? There are only a couple that sell actual Ameraucanas - most sell what they call "Ameraucana" (or spelled Americauna), but if you read the actual breed descriptions and read between the lines they come out and say that they are selling mixed breed birds which = Easter Eggers. Because EE are mixed breed birds with Ameraucana/Araucana blood the chicks will look similar.

I think you're right. I'm searching for a few true Ameraucanas to start a small purebred flock. Gosh, I really wanted a silver laced Wyandotte.
