Silver Laced Wyandottes want to take a guess for me? Please!

If this helps any here are a couple of pics of my SLW roo (who is 3 years old now) back when he was around 4 or 5 weeks old. Notice how much white he had in his feathers. My SLW hen never had all that white in the shoulder area of her wings.

These have been helpful to me - my 6-7 week SLW "pullet" has red showing in 'her' comb and in 'her' developing wattles, which made me think she may be a he...however, her feathers are still very black with mostly lines of white except in the very front. At what age does the lacing start to appear?

Here is a photo of ours to help show the differences in the coloration. These are show quality birds, so the lacing is alot easier to see. The pullet is on the left and the roo is on the right-see his white "wing shield(as I call them)" coming in? Plus that guy had waddles and a red comb at 4 weeks old and his lacing on his breast area is different from the rest of his lacing. He is also feathering in slower than the female.

I am just scared of getting really attached to my chickens and then find out a few months later that they are cockerels and need to go. I guess it's just a part of having chickens
