silver laced wyandottes

I have silver laced wyandottes in a pen by themselves and saved there eggs for hatching. When they hatched the bitties came out looking different. Some were dark colored and some were lite. Cam wyandottes be sex linked or is this normal?

Did you have another roo with the hens besides the SLW roo?

no no other roos. they couldnt even fly in i have a no fly pen.

The are not crossed then.... Chick do turn into very different looking aniamsl as they grow. I would love to see pics now, at 4 weeks, 10,weeks etc.....

How long did you have them seperated before you tried hatching them?

I had them seperated for 2-3 weeks before collecting

I asked the same thing on a different thread. Had a batch of SLW's from Marti's hatchery. We ordered sexed pullets but two packing peanuts were added. Two of the chicks were quite a bit lighter in color than the rest. One was white in the face, wings, and bottem and the other was a light silver gray in the same areas. All the other chicks were darker in various shades of gray, from medium to dark charcoal. Both these light chicks have turned out to be roos
