The dark lacing is normal for blue birds. Although, is that some silver I see leaking through on the back and neck? Or is it just a glare from the camera?

If you could breed him to some more silver laced birds, you could get some better quality blue laced, which sounds very pretty!

Got more pictures of Sid this week. He is not getting any prettier, though my teenage boys think he's the coolest roo we've got. He's now almost 3 months old. See all the silver lacing coming through? I sure should come up with a project to use him in.

I get such a kick out of this comb!

No silver-laced hens to breed him with. Maybe I'll keep his parents together for a while and get him some sisters, and go from there? Maybe I could come up with a blue-laced bird eventually...

Not going to get any more silver-laced birds anytime soon. Working on b/b/s cochins right now, and don't even have the space I want for them yet...

He's cute!

I have two roosters that look like him, out of a frizzled white cochin and a silver laced polish. They may not look exactly like him, but they do have the funky "crowns" at the back of their combs , feathered feet, beard, and crest.
