We have lost 3 chickens and a mallard *sob* to an evil weasel over the past 4 days... today I didn't even let my chickens out of the front half of their coop... anyway, somebody laid an EGG!!!!!! one of my 3 remaining EEs apparently, probably the biggest one.. a pretty bluish green... made me happy in spite of everything...

I'm sorry to hear about your chickens. Darn weasels.
Is this your first egg you've gotten from the girls?

Yes, and out of the 10 29 weekers, only 3 are EEs, and it was one of those!!! So I'm really, REALLY glad. I think they've been laying other places, and then I think my dog eats them... at least, that's what my mallards do... an another good thing, our missing mallard just came home!!! But I still can't catch either one... they're sitting out on the pond... I want to clip their wings, but can't catch them to do it! anyway, FIRST EGG!

Sorry about the chickens. Glad mallard came home. Glad for the egg. Way to look at the silver lining. So sorry for the lost chickens though.
