I have 4 silver Phoenix roosters and want to breed to three hens. The lightest brightest silver color and dominant rooster has some mahogany specs one his covert (upper wing feathers) but a very bright solid saddle. The others are a solid very pale gold on coverts and saddle . Are the specs okay on the brighter rooster or would the solid pale gold color be the better.

I am sorry but I have the hardest time trying to post pictures I hope this works the single roo is the brightest the pair are the lemon or pale gold colors.https://www.backyardchickens.com/fo...dchickens.com/forum/uploads/11241_pheonix.gif

Beautiful Birds. Sorry can't give any adavice on them. I don'tknow much about them but working on learning. I have a pair being delivered next month. Can't wait but i have to. We are working on their coop. They get one all to themselves. My roo is a golden.

I would use the whiter bird. You don't want the yellowing (or the mahogany, for that matter), also, his tail carriage is a little closer to the standard.

Another thing-Phoenix should have white ear lobes and lay white eggs. Where did you get your birds?
