I was thinking that pattern silver pied has 2 white eyes genes !
So , in theory, all the eyes must be white .... this is not what the picture shows!

Indian blue black shoulder silver pied have often a blue neck very marked .
There is an explanation??

All I can think of is that the bird must be only heterozygous for White-Eye -- or that there is variable expression with the gene, leading to non-white eyes in some birds. But I'm leaning more toward the former.

:)

Some of the Spalding silverpied males have very liittle green on the neck. I think he is a spalding silverpied. I had one a few years ago with a couple of green train feathers. This one got a few more. If this male got only one copy of white eye gene, is he not simply a pied bied with one copy of w/e gene ?and his appearance would have been very different- with lot more green on the entire body
