Silver Wyandottes - are they hardy?

Katy here on BYC has awesome Silver Laced Wyandottes. She is where I'd get mine if I wanted to have some again.

You would get sex-linked Wyandottes - Males would be a creamy white and yellow laced, females would be gold laced.

I appreciate everyone's opinions on hatchery vs. breeder stock, however I imagine it is very subjective. I have only had hatchery birds for all my almost 18 years of chicken keeping. My first were barred rocks & I had several "pets" that lived & layed until 8+ years old. I tried to get bantam rocks last year from a breeder & that was a fiasco, poor communication and finally no birds. This was one of the big named guys often mentioned on here. Seems to do a big business with his birds. Not saying I won't go that route again, but it was very frustrating. It is also true that breeder/show quality parents don't mean you will get that in the offspring. I got my first Wyandottes this year from Meyer. They are Columbian. I'm sure they are not show or breeder quality, but they are not bad birds. I would love to get breeder birds, but most of the ones mentioned on here are from down south. I have no desire to get birds from down south, just don't want to bring anything up north from down there. We have enough problems with bugs & disease here when it never stays cold long enough, can't imagine what you do in FL & the like. JMHO. Will stick with hatchery stock until I know what I am doing.
