Simple Coop Design [Updated 7/29/2010]

Yay Chicks! :

That new design you are working from is the one I built from. I did keep the nest box inside the run, however, just to make sure that it stayed very dry. I made the clean out door bigger, but then had no end of trouble sorting out where to attach the roost! I'm happy with it. Just would have built everything a big bigger if I could do it over.

Yes, thank you SO much! It had everything I was looking for, just changed it around a bit... I clicked on the link for your Google design (after multiple failures on my part...) and changed it some. When I went to post it I couldn't find the page again! So I'll change "one member's" to "Yay Chicks!" design.

Oh Wait! It wasn't my design! I meant to say that I had used that design as well and was happy with the results. I need to read my posts more carefully for clarity!

Do you have pictures of yours?

Hey, it looks like a good design that you have in mind. I wanted to mention that I used a material from Lowe's called Ondura for the roofing, and was really glad that I did. It was the cheapest option, and turned out to be really easy to work with and nice and sturdy with no sharp edges like fiberglass or metal corrugated roofing can have. It's available in several colors - white, tan, brown, blue, red and maybe some others. And no, I don't work for them.

Nice! I like your design! I think my second one will look like yours. Maybe instead of metal roofing you could use the ondura roofing material. Its on my tractor and the coop temp remains pretty stable. You can find it at lowes.

Hey, ChickaBea!
Got my coop pics uploaded, but can't figure out how to embed them into this reply, so I'm going to go post them on my page now. Hopefully you can see them there in a few minutes.
