Simple Green

simple green is fine, its great stuff...

I love Simple Green. Have used it for years. I coach football and after the games jerseys, especially lighter colored ones, get stained horribly. Solution? Soak them overnight in simple green and scrub the worst areas and yep they will be squeaky clean! Very good, non-toxic cleaner that the athletes have never had any trouble wearing those jerseys after they have been soaked and washed in it. Good enough for peoples children, so I say good enough for some chickens.

Perhaps the reason we use "chemicals" instead of just elbow grease is because they are (or can be) a disinfectant? IMO. I know nothing about simple green, but I do not that disinfecting and using more than just warm water can alleviate bacteria buildup. Like I said, IMO.

I buy gallon jugs of the stuff. It's MY cleaner. LOL

I have used it and also bleach to clean the coops. I know some just scrape and hose down, but I have to feel like it's really clean.

Sometimes, you just need a little more elbow grease than you have in your elbow, and simple green works well.

Please pardon me while I hijack for a moment. I have used bleach, oxyclean, Calgon, Borax, and washing soda to remove mineral deposits from my grey laundry. Not very successfully, I might add. Could Simple Green possibly be the answer to this problem?

And what are you disinfecting *against*? There is honestly NO need to "disinfect" unless you have an actual problem, like a disease or have let things get unspeakably filthy. And even then, scrubbing and rinsing and sunlight are really quite good at the job.

Probably and also to get things really white...................asprin. just add to the wash of whites. Never tried it with any other colors, but some with trim and still works fine. Just don't know if it would bleach out other colors.
