Simulated Natural Nest Incubation~Experiment #1 So it begins....

I've been reading but haven't commented as I am just observing. But I wanted to say that this thread was mentioned in the promotional email that goes out from time to time from BYC. I imagine there will be a lot of interest to watch!

Congrats!

Simulated Nest Incubation Experiment
On BYC we love our members creativity! But we’re especially excited when they share it with the rest of our community. This “Simulated Natural Nest Incubation Experiment” is a perfect example! Check out the experiment and post your thoughts, ideas, or just reply with how cool it is!

ETA: There were several things hi-lited in the email. This was just one of them. The main subject was the Easter hatch-a-long.

Beekissed I set alarms on my phone to remind me to turn or check on the temp in my incubator . With the 3 little ones running around I was scared I would forget it might help with you remembering . Don't give up just yet

Yep, its true. That's why I'm here.. saw the promo!

I hope this doesn't put Beekissed on the spot!

Still very interesting!!! You can count me in as another one who will be watching!

Look at that Bee, not only are you queen of FF but now you are incubation famous too! XD

Yep....the queen just killed 18 eggs and is set to kill 14 more. Anybody out there following this thread....please be aware..I'm a total incubation newbie and am not to be followed to find out "how to". Not even. Not close. No banana.

I'm learning! Poorly...but I'm learning.

I wish I had fertilized eggs available in my back yard... It would make experiments so much easier! Maybe if the one rooster from the vet that does crow softening on roos is still available when I have money again I will get him. 9_9; I would love a rooster for fertilized eggs...!

Sure was and it was my fault. I got impatient to bring temps up to cruising mode and left the pad on high and with a weight on the pad and then I forgot I left it that way and went to town. I'm just not good at this whole minding the hatch thingy. My mind is not geared towards it.

Maybe there's an inexpensive plugin thermostat that could be used in conjunction with the heat pad so it shuts off over 101.
Something similar to the heat cube???
