I am not a big fan of people babies but Id put the heatpad set up like you will in the brooder, then toss the whole thing in a big cardboard box the chicks cant get out of in case they hop out of the nest. Add extra extra water, cover the big box with a sheet to keep in the warm and moist and leave it at home!

and don't forget the tinfoil. It will radiate heat back into the nest and help to prevent heat loss. Wishing the best for you and yours, safe travels.
