Simulated Natural Nest Incubation~Experiment #1 So it begins....

Took 2 more clears out of the nest last night, down to 18 bouncing chicks in the shell. That was the last of the candling needs to eliminate bad eggs. Now I can just do it to spy on the babies.....

Day 14 is nearly done.

Beautiful day here today and I hope you all are getting the same wonderful weather! Will do first turning of the soil tomorrow, if the Lord is willing and my back holds out.

Those are still great numbers. I think one of my eggs died yesterday. It was morning the night before now it looks like s blood ring. I'm going to leave it for a while.

The weather here was awesome and Luke and I worked on the chicken pen and then I spread grass seed.

We have had a few very nice days here, in the high 60's low 70's.. which as it turns out is a good thing as my dryer went out Thursday (heater coil) ordered the part but of course they sent the wrong one... Love that its been nice enough I haven't gotten to backed up on laundry...Yeah clothesline!!

I have a couple turkey eggs to remove, when I candled yesterday they had that all too hated blood ring look to them.. Will check again in a couple days..

I feel like I'm checking mine every 5 minutes. It's more like watching a rose bloom. (Well my rose any ways. I have a peppermint rose that takes 6-20 days from Bud to bloom then the bloom survives for just days

Ok... All four have internally pipped and I hear chirping!!! good thing my bathroom window is shut, folks would think I have gone crazy talking the way I do in the bathroom right now...lololol..

Not really expecting an external pip til this evening, early morning...then wait again til they zip... Got the heat on them at 99 and the humidity is sticking great at around 56...

I will!! Still no external pips.. Been 15 hours since I candled and noticed the first two had broken through the inner membrane... The waiting is killing me!!!

I have a duck that when I candle I can see trying to externally pip. It's rocking like crazy and screaming louder then Luke
