Singe chick!

Hi all. I have just joined so hoping I have done this correctly.
first time chicken Hatcher and tomorrow is day 21 ( hatch day for my silkie)
I had 5 eggs and I only have one left in the incubator...
My question is..
Will my silkie need a friend to grow woth?
should I incubate again in hope for another silkie ? If so they will be about 4 weeks apart.
Otherwise I can get a larger breed of chick which is hatching 4 days later.
I really only do want Silkies, so it means I might potentially have to rehome the bigger chicken.

fingers crossed my last little guy makes it out of the egg ! No pipping yet !

Provide a mirror for 'company' and get another silky when you can.

Will they be ok to introduce when 4 weeks apart?
I might have to wait for the new hatch to be a couple weeks old so they don’t get trampled on.

They usually integrate pretty well within a couple months of each other. Same rules as always, though: put them together with a barrier and let them get used to seeing/hearing each other before they can reach each other. Let the little one grow out in size a while until they're both able to hold their own.

You may be able to pick out of a bantam bin at TSC if it hatches, or another chick.
