I have a broody hen who hatched a single egg on the 16th. Mom has begun laying eggs again as of yesterday and appears very ready to get out of the brooder and back with the herd. The brooder has a heating lamp so i can keep the chick warm, but kinda hate having him all alone. Should I leave his mom in there or will he be okay by himself? Thanks for any advice!

I would think with a brooder lamp he would be fine. I would put mom with him at night though, just so he doesn't forget he's a chicken

i think you should leave him with his mom and the rest of the flock,
she will defend him and keep him warm, all of the broodies that i have had, i have left them in their nest and then she will go into the flock when she wishes to, the first few days she will probably stay away from the others, but she will be fine with it after a while,

any way thats just my experience

I had removed mom from the flock when the chick hatched and put them both safely in a brooder next to the flock. I was concerned that the flock would have hurt the baby.
