single comb BLRW

One can get rid of single combs, simple dimple..... one cannot however find nice typey wyandottes around every corner. wink

Knowing whose birds the OP was posting about I think I'd sooner have the 20% single combs, than 100% rose comb on possibly less nice birds.wink

I totally agree. My birds already have some nice type showing, and the comb is really secondary.

I may take you up on that offer, I will PM you when I decide. The chickies are really healthy, and growing fast.
However, due to some things beyond my control, I have lost 3 chicks along the way (these things happen). One died at two days old, one at two weeks, and I just lost one of the largest ones a few days ago (they all piled up in their house on one of those hot hot days). Then I had two chicks that mysteriously got an infected toe that had to be amputated. That wasn't cheap, but worth it.
So out of the original 25, I have 16 that may be show prospects (yes, in the AOV category).

I sincerely hope that you don't think I am complaining, I just wanted to give you a quick update.

No I dont think your complaining....but you may be one of those "bad luck girls", did you ever make a voodoo woman from Baton Rouge mad at you?

I dont mind if you need 5 more rose comb BLRW chicks, just email or call me. I went out to my growout pens today looked through my BLRW and I could only find two single combs out of about 75 BLRW's in those pens...but I did find a little roo with a wry tail. Weird stuff pops up now in then and we try our best to make it go away by culling it....I still get a buff colored blrw now and then, but over all I am very happy with the type, color and yes even the combs this year...honestly the type is crazy good this year.
