Hello Everyone-
A single duckling hatched from a batch of six (the others were duds). It seems healthy and happy but I know they need companions. None of the feed stores around me have ducklings. I ordered more from Metzer but they won't be sent out for another eight days (then a few more to arrive). Will it be ok without company? We're giving it attention (my kids are very attentive and gentle with it) but that by no means is equal to living with other ducks. When his friends arrive they'll be 3 days old and he'll be about 11 days old- I know ducks grow quick, will the size difference be such to be a hazard for the smaller ducks? Any advice you could give me would be a huge help for us! Thanks for your time.

Yes, it will be ok if you provide plenty of attention. You could also put a mirror or a stuffed animal if you want. I would first put a border that that could see each other, but not touch for several days. That way, they can get used to each other.
