A while back I had 1 chick hatch out REALLY late. It was so small I was afraid to put it into the brooder with the others, right away.
I ended up making a very small brooder out of a cardboard box, with water, food, light/heat and an old turkey feather duster. It was so sweet to see that little bitty snuggled up under the duster feathers, come out to peck food, get a drink and rush back under the protection of the 'Momma' feather duster.
After a few days, it was ready to join the other chicks. All went well!!!!
