Single or double barred Chocolate Cuckoo Orps

Is it best to add solid chocolate or search for a DBL barred rooster if I am wanting DBL barring? What will clean up the SB that I have?

The roo is a cool guy and I guess I should be more concerned with temperament over color.

This is how light he was at 2.5 weeks. My pullets were considerably darker , one especially.

Are these the same chicks you posted pics of before?
These look black barred in these pics.
When you say father was dbl barred do you mean dbl barred chocolate?
There's nothing to confirm. If mother was solid there is no possibility that the cockerel could be dbl barred and never a possibility of a female to be dbl barred. Females can only have one gene for barring.

You can't ever get double barred with breeding a solid colored.
Both parents have to be barred for any chance of a double barred offspring.

Here is a picture of the father. He is a DBL Barred Chocolate bred to solid chocolate hens. The chick color is pretty dark. My cockerel is significantly lighter than the girls but the color in the pictures are a little deceptive.

They are the same chicks just a couple of weeks older
