Single or double barred Chocolate Cuckoo Orps

Sorry for the question, but rhode island is dun or chocolate?
They are gold based columbian restricted enhanced by Mahogany and other red enhancers, some of them sure look like dark chocolate from a distance

Single barring on such dark red birds will produce a very dark mahogany barring pattern, not quite chocolate but beautiful indeed.

Is it best to add solid chocolate or search for a DBL barred rooster if I am wanting DBL barring? What will clean up the SB that I have?

The roo is a cool guy and I guess I should be more concerned with temperament over color.

Cross your current double-barred rooster to one of his own barred daughters, and you should get double-barred sons and single-barred daughters.

Same idea in other words: the double-barred father is pure for barring (two copies of the gene). His single-barred daughters are also pure for barring (barring on the only Z chromosome they have). So that rooster and his daughters will always produce pure barred chicks when bred together.
