Single People.....Just how do you explain the chicken "Thang"?

In my brief foray here on BYC, it seems, and wonderfully so, family oriented; but what happens if you have become addicted, so to speak, and you are single...... how does one explain this??????

I don't have to explain anything to anyone. I guess people think I am strange so they keep their distance.

Perhaps you could make certain to only date people that you meet in a feed and seed store?

I think just saying that you like animals and own chickens might help get the conversation started.

Single here and don't really care what other people think! Funny thing though..all my married friends find their way to my back yard to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and Chicken TV!!

They might as well be asking you why you own a cat or a dog. It's a silly question. Chickens not only provide you with breakfast, but they make great companions.

I agree with hossier, if they don't understand or at the very least fully accept it they aren't the one for you.....

You have to meet my flock can't be any scarier than the in-laws!
