... No I didn't trip over the power cable and unplug the server!

You may have noticed that the site was down for a few minutes. Totally my fault! I was testing something and should have waited till late at night... sometimes I'm just very impatient.

Everything's good now.

Very sorry for any inconvenience!

HAHA... you and me both sister!

Actually, I don't really worry too much anymore. Even if there is a little downtime (it happens... even with Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and BYC) I sleep peacefully ever since implementing a super picky backup plan for this site... here's what I do:

1) Create a daily copy of the existing forum database and compress it to a zip file
2) Leave a copy of that backup on the local server and send a copy to another computer thousands of miles away.
3) Download all the daily backup files from that second computer onto my local computer
4) Every once in a while burn all the backups to a DVD and store them at another physical location

If you lost count, that's about 5 instances of the backup file that exist in locations all over the country... even if my house blew up and the server (in Atlanta) got hit by a hurricane, I've still got 3 other daily backups that can be loaded up.

Rob, being a Eagle Scout is a great accomplishment and something I'm sure you are proud of. I'm proud of you for reaching that goal alot of young men fall short of achieving. Way to go.....

Oh hey, thanks much! <blush> As the youngest of 5 boys (all of whom had received their Eagles) I kinda had to

Actually I feel like the majority of me getting my Eagle is due to the excellent church / scouting leaders that did so much hard work.

Rob, I won't go on and on about support from your parents, because you definitely had that. I feel bad sometimes, for the young men that have no support at home and don't have as much of a chance to ever reach lofty goals of any kind.

I volunteer my time at our 60 acre church camp and help the youth and scouts on a regular basis. Kids without a home life, struggle to see where they need to be going.

I try to steer some of the young men in the right direction, however daily life seems to get in the way. imagine that... ( I know you can )

Yeah, they really were "motivators". The house rule was no driving / can't get your license until you get your Eagle (let's just say I didn't drive until I was quite a bit past the driving age).
